Valorant 6.0 Patch Notes

New map Lotus added

Valorant 6.0 Patch Notes

The most recent addition to the VALORANT map pool is Lotus, a stunning place carved out of an Indian rockface with exquisite architecture. The fact that it is a three-site map with spinning doors that open with a switch and a destructible connector are just a few of the gameplay elements that make this map unique.

During 6.0, the Lotus-only queue will only be playable in Swiftplay mode for one week. The map will then go into the competitive and unrated map rotation in Patch 6.1.

Riot Games made a risky choice by introducing a brand-new map and designing it with three bomb sites. Instead of continuing with the old double-bomb site maps, the publisher is promoting the concept that a format is here to stay. One that is lush and green and contains remnants of a long-lost heritage carved into the walls has been effectively built by the developers.

As grinders become familiar with the new map, it can be anticipated that the combination of all the components that make up Lotus will occupy the whole player base for countless hours. The mysterious abilities that opened the floodgates to this new map were hinted at in the most recent video.

Key Features of Lotus Map

The next Lotus map from Valorant stands out since it will include three total sites, just like Haven. It would be situated in the Western Ghats of India on Omega Earth and will be heavily influenced by Dravidian rock-cut architecture and Indian step-well buildings.

The map will include a number of cues and components that will give the Guardians in the narrative a precise visual portrayal. These aspects will be concealed, though, and left for the player base to find and notice on their own.

The forthcoming map will have three new mechanics in total. Instead of the typical sliding doors we have seen in Breeze and Fracture, it will have spinning doors. On the map, there will be a new door or wall that can be destroyed by weapons and abilities that deal damage.

A new “silent drop” mechanic will also be featured on Lotus, making all three of the new mechanics first-of-its-kind in Valorant. The publisher has been stern while stating that this ruined site is not a temple and has no religious ties to any part of the world. The Lotus map will be introduced as a “Lost City” that held incredible power at some point in time for the lore.

Split is back with some changes

Valorant

After some time away, Split is back with some significant tweaks, but no drastic overhauls. Here are the highlights:

  • A Main: First engagement area for Attackers has been widened and a small ledge added for mixups. Boost box next to the orb has been reduced to give Attackers a new position looking into A site.
  • A Rafters: The under-over area has been removed, making this much easier to deal with as an Attacker.
  • A Tower: The back section of the Tower has been flattened to make the fight to Ramps easier for both teams.
  • Mid: Players can now silently drop down Mid platform. The trick-jump up onto Mid box has also been removed for simplicity.
  • B Tower: Defender side jump up box has been removed to simplify the space.
  • B Rope Pocket: The hard corner here has been smoothed out to make clearing the spot easier.

Competitive updates

Here is the list of other changes made in Valorant 6.0 Patch Notes.

  • Episode reset: A new Episode means a ranked reset! Expect your placement rank to be lower than at the end of Episode 5, and good luck on your climb!
  • For all players: Ranked rating gains and losses will depend slightly more on win/loss, and slightly less on the exact round differential of the match.
  • For players whose ranks are far away from their MMR: Ranked rating gains will depend more on individual performance,  instead of round differential. You should also see your rank and MMR converge faster

All other updates

Valorant 6.0 Patch Notes
  • Breeze and Bind have now been removed from competitive and unrated map rotation, but are still playable in all other modes.
  • Omen’s Dark Cover ability will now fall to the height of nearby ground if placed inside a wall.

  • You can now select specific variants of your gun skins as favorites.

  • Reworked the way guns process zoom inputs for ADS and Scopes when using toggle zoom.

Battlepass

The new Battlepass will feature three separate weapon collections as per tradition: 9 Lives, Gridcrash, and Venturi. These will include skins for all the guns that are used the most in the game, such as Vandal, Phantom, Judge, Stinger, and Classic with a melee at its end.

The subscription will also feature some new player cards, with insights from the lore as well as the usual cute art and hopefully some interesting easter eggs to be dug out. There will also be fascinating gun buddies, titles, and sprays featuring the community’s responses to Valorant and Agents interacting with one another in fun new ways.

The valorant battle pass consists of 50 tiers divided across 10 chapters, with five epilogue levels. The end of every chapter and epilogue feature free rewards for all players.

However, the bulk of the pass lies in the 50 premium tiers. Players can unlock the premium variant for 1000 VP, which gives buyers an XP boost to help them finish the game faster.

As with most games, Valorant’s Battlepass is a cost-effective way to add cosmetics to a player’s arsenal, as it grants them access to skins for most of the guns as well as a melee option. Fans looking to buy the pass must keep in mind that the skins that will be present in it will not be upgradable and won’t have animations either.
