The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022

At the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in 2022, eSports will make a significant debut. Eight video game franchises, including FIFA, Dota 2, League of Legends, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, Hearthstone, Street Fighter V, and Asian versions of PUBG Mobile and Arena of Valor, have been added to the lineup, according to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

A gold, silver, and bronze medal will be awarded for each game. In all, 24 medals will be awarded in China in 2022. Robot Masters and VR Sports will also be played during the games as demonstration events in addition to those games.

For its 12th edition, the World Championship 2022 will return with tournaments in Mexico City, New York City, Toronto, and San Francisco. Twelve teams from various areas fight for the title of global champion in this competition, which is the pinnacle of League of Legends competition. The month-long competition features 24 teams from Riot Games’ 12 professional leagues.

It takes a year to qualify for the World Championships; athletes participate in 12 international leagues for different teams. The event will include over 800 participants who will advance through the phases from the Play-Ins on September 29, 2022, through the Finals on November 5, 2022.

The Pro-Am Finals, the concluding event of the Elite Series: League of Legends, will take place at the GameForce in Brussels, Belgium. The Pro-Am Finals will feature a €8,000 prize fund and 16 teams from the Elite Series and Benelux Regional League. The coveted 2022 Pro-Am Champion title will be decided by the last two teams.

Electronic Arts (EA) is ramping up preparations for the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 3 with a preseason Split 1 for the remainder of 2022, building on the enormous success of this year’s Apex Legends event.

In 2023, Split 2 and the remaining tournament phases will begin. EA also announces that ALGS Year 3 will use an enhanced pro league for regular season games in addition to the competition schedules. For the most high-level competition and qualification opportunities, each region’s Pro League may field 30 teams.

Additionally, ALGS Year 3 will hold three (3) on-site competitions. Last but not least, the prize fund for the upcoming competition is $5,000,000.

The year-long Dota 2 Pro Circuit comes to an end with the International 2022. It just so happens to be the tournament’s eleventh (11th) run, earning the nickname “The International 11.”

The phases for this year’s tournament will change slightly from those from prior years; on October 8, 2022, a Last Chance Qualifier Stage will be held to choose an additional two qualifying teams. The International will see the addition of 20 teams, enlarging the group stage that was initially made up of 18 teams.

The game’s creator, Valve, is the event’s host, and it brings together DOTA 2 players from all around the world to participate. Twelve of the best teams compete in the international event. Through a battle pass system within the game, the tournament prize pool is crowdfunded. The prize fund for 2021 exceeded $40 million.2022 prize pool is $18 million. This year’s prize pool had a shorter timeframe than in prior years because battle pass was made available a month before The International 2022’s group stage started.

With the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) 2022, Counter Strike: Global Offensive debuts in Major for the first time ever in Brazil. In the live competition, fans can support any one of the 24 participating teams.

Challengers, Legends, and Champions are the three event stages that will make up IEM Rio 2022. A fan festival will be hosted during the Champions stage to give the audience a more engaging and thrilling experience.

The Asia Pacific Predator League returns in Japan in 2022, powered by Intel, Predator Gaming, and Planet 9. Teams representing 15 nations will demonstrate their Dota 2 and PUBG: Battlegrounds prowess at this year’s event. The total prize money for both competitions is $400,000. Additionally, winners receive gift packages from Acer that include gaming equipment from Predator and the APAC Predator League Shield.

The Elisa Masters Espoo 2022 will present the gaming community with its first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Official ESL Pro Tour Affiliate Event. The winner of the competition will have the chance to compete in the IEM Katowice 2023 Play-In Stage, a highly anticipated ESL event in Poland.

The competition will be divided into Group and Playoff stages, with the winner receiving an invitation to IEM Katowice 2023 and prize money totaling $200,000.

Atlanta will host two days of contests, expos, and musical events for DreamHack 2022. The 14th World Esports Championship will include competitions for TEKKEN 7, Dota 2, CS:GO, PUBG Mobile, and eFootball. Each winner receives a portion of the $500,000 prize fund.

The year 2023 will be crucial for France. With the Blast.tv Major 2023, Paris will host its first-ever Counter Strike Major competition. The Blast.tv Major 2023, one of the biggest esports competitions, comes before other major international gatherings held in France, such the 2024 Olympics and Paralympic Games in Paris. Additionally, this will be the first Major competition that the Danish esports media business BLAST has organized.
