In 2021, Charles “Cr1Tikal” White Jr. established Moist Esports. Since that time, the company has seen success with a number of well-known titles, including Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The business has also ventured into other games including Super Smash Bros. Melee and Guilty Gear Strive.

History

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player Kolawole “Kola” Aideyan had been signed by Moist Esports, and the Internet celebrity Charles “Cr1TiKaL” White, Jr., revealed the signing on August 11, 2021. In September, the company added Super Smash Bros. Melee and Guilty Gear Strive to its list of esports. After hiring the former members of Team Queso, Org. established its Rocket League section on May 5, 2022.

On May 5, 2022, they established their Rocket League branch after hiring Joe “Joyo” Young, Finlay “Rise” Ferguson both from United Kingdom and Axel “Vatira” Touret from France, who had previously played for Team Queso and Noah “Noah” Hinder joined Moist Esports as the coach of the Rocket League Roster. On July 3, 2022, in London, the squad went on to win the Rocket League Championship Series 2021–22 Spring Split Major competition. In the quarterfinals of the 2022 Rocket League Championship Series World Championship, Moist Esports was defeated by FURIA Esports 4-3.

Axel “Vatira” Touret was dropped from the starting lineup on September 8 before being let go on September 20. The signing of Maëllo “AztraL” Ernst from Belgium was then revealed by Moist on September 21. It was revealed that Rise would be leaving Moist for Oxygen eSports on January 9, 2023. On January 12, Charles “juicy” Sabiani from France took his post.

On September 6, Cr1TiKal fittingly confirmed signing of three formal Team Burger; Joshua “Josh” Green, Matthew “Emtee” Trengove, Ben “Wxltzy” Welton. The Australian esports team formed in 2021 and strung together a few impressive performances. Dylan “Prycyy” Price officially joined on 19 January 2023

Super Smash Bros.

Kolawole “Kola” Aideyan from USA, a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player, became Moist Esports’ first-ever signing on August 11, 2021. Later that month, Aaron “Aaron” Wilhite, a second Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player, was acquired by the organization. The group made its public debut at Smash Ultimate Summit Three of Beyond the Summit. Following the organization’s signing of Kurtis “Moky” Pratt in September 2021, Super Smash Bros. Melee esports were launched. Alexis “Goblin” Stennett in September 2021. The squad had added a total of four players to their Ultimate division by April 2022.

Moist Esports-Running at loss?

Content Creator Charlie “MoistCr1TiKal” White revealed he runs his esports organization at “a massive net loss.” On September 21, 2022, White revealed this information in a YouTube video titled “I Need You,” where he rallied his fans to help him top the leaderboards of Omega Strikers to earn a cash reward.

The streamer went on to explain that the cash reward would go “directly into Moist Esports,” as he currently loses quite a bit of money running the organization.

Cr1TiKal said that he loses “around six figures a month” on his org. however he declined to provide specific figures.

White quickly downplayed the defeat, saying, “It’s alright, since right now, my entire Twitch payment goes into his org.  in order to keep it expanding and maintain a good salary for all the players.

Even while White reiterated that the Omega Strikers $100,000 prize would go a long way toward helping him grow the organization, he added that he “doesn’t mind running org. at a loss” and that he’d “do it forever” if he had to.

For those who may not know, the Omega Strikers Twitter account tweeted that “the top 3 placed Creator Teams” would earn a percentage of the game’s seasonal net revenue depending on placement, with 1st place earning 3% of Season 1’s revenue.

Cr1TiKal said “If we win it, that 3% of net revenue could be extremely helpful” in alleviating the financial net loss he makes on his Org.

The streamer clarified that he was not sponsored by the game, but was simply making his video as a call-to-action to his viewer base who would want to see org. expand even further.
