Community Expansion
During the Valorant offseason, a number of creator-led events have been introduced to the competitive calendar as professional players and streamers work to expand their fan bases and establish new possibilities for competition. Additionally, it enables the neighborhood to recover from a year of pro-Valorant events.
Among other creators, streamers like iiTzTimmy have declared their intention to play RE//LOAD on Team RGX. He previously indicated his ambition to form his own Valorant team for the competitive calendar with shroud.
Amazon collaborations between Riot Games are nothing new. The publisher and the business have collaborated on a number of projects in recent years, including as a multi-title agreement with Prime Gaming and an agreement with Amazon Web Services to “transform” the way Riot’s esports content is produced. Several ‘onsite activities’ are offered at RE//LOAD, according to a press release.
Amazon is still growing its influence in the esports sector. The business’ audio streaming service teamed up with the Esports Awards in December, and in July it collaborated with tournament organizer BLAST for the BLAST Titans Apex Legends event.
Official Announcement
The RE//LOAD event experience for our VALORANT community will be co-hosted by Amazon and the staff at Crown Channel, said Nikki Lewis, Senior Director of Brand Marketing at Riot Games, of the partnership: “We’re excited to work with Amazon and the people at Crown Channel.
“Valorant lives at the intersection of competitive gaming and up-and-coming music, so partnering with Amazon’s Crown Channel to throw an in-person event like RE//LOAD — both a gaming event, starring some of Valorant’s fan-favorite streamers, and a music event, featuring rising artists like Mike Dimes, Jae Park, and Dabin — was a no-brainer.”
